Jeanine Pirro was born on June 2, 1952, in Elmira, New York, in the United States. She is currently the host of the highly-rated program, The Five. Besides, Pirro has worked as a New York Judge, author, and host. 

Early life 

Judge Jeanine Pirro was born and raised in Elmira, New York City, in the United States. Pirro parents were Lebanese-American. Her mother was a store model, and her father was a mobile salesman. The mother spent her childhood in Beirut, and they were Maronite Catholics. 

Westchester county law career

 Jeanine Pirro started her career as an assistant district attorney in 1975. During this time, she handled small cases and wrote appeals. She managed to convince Vergari to apply for grants that fight against domestic violence. 

Court judge 

In 1990, younger Judge Jeanine Pirro left the attorney office for Westchester County. She defeated the Democratic nominee, Justice Lawrence D. Lenihan, and August C. Nimphius, Jr. Pirro was amongst the first female judge in Westchester County. 

District attorney 

Judge Pirro was re-elected to the district attorney in 1997. She worked until 2001 for about 4 years and did not seek re-election for the additional four months. During her tenure, she prosecuted notable cases, including one of Anne Scripps Douglas, who was hit on her head using a hammer by her husband, Scott Douglas. In 1993, Pirro handled the O.J. Simpson case, making her appear on different media networks and television news. 

Pirro was appointed to become the New York State Commission chair of the Domestic Violence Fatality Board. The then-Governor George Pataki gave her the position which saw her push for enhanced protection of the victims of domestic abuse. Jeffrey Deskovic was falsely accused of killing Correa under Judge Pirro’s tenure, making him serve about 16 years in prison. Deskovic was compensated $41.6 million after the real murderer confessed. 

Statewide career 

Jeanine Pirro nominations began in 1986, when she was asked to join the lieutenant gubernatorial candidate. Besides the issues from the Republican party, she declined the position following her husband’s inability to declare her clients and alleged links to the mafias. Michael Kavanagh of Ulster County replaced Pirro. 

On August 10, 2005, Pirro decided to go for the senate seat nomination and challenge the then-senator, Hillary Clinton. She was supported by Donald Trump, Tommy Hilfiger, and real estate moguls who did business with her husband. Judge Jeanine dropped out of the race following pressure from the party officials, leaving her with a debt of about $600,000, unpaid as of 2019. 

Pirro was nominated for Republican Attorney General of New York without opposition on May 31, 2006. Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic nominee, defeated her with a margin of 19%.

Pirro has been a news contributor on different talk shows before becoming a host for the CW and The FOX News Corporation. Before, she appeared in Greg Gutfeld’s show and others such as Larry King Live. Pirro has had an illustrious media career with few controversial claims. 

The CW Television network

 Pirro joined the CW network on May 5, 2008. The show was known as Judge Jeanine Pirro, and it did run during CW daytime hours. It won accolades such as the 37th Daytime Emmy Awards. Besides, the show got canceled following low ratings.
