Early life

Sean Hannity was born to Lillian Flynn and Hugh Hannity. He grew up in Franklin Square, New York, with his four siblings as the youngest and only boy. His mother was a stenographer and corrections officer at a county jail, while his father was a World War II veteran and family court officer. Hannity worked as a paperboy in his youth, delivering New York Daily News and Long Island Daily Press.

Education 

He went to Sacred Heart Seminary in Hempstead, New York, and later to St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale, New York. Hannity also attended New York University and Adelphi University. Sean Hannity’s education in both universities ended with no graduation.

Hannity’s talk show career started in 1989 at a radio show, KCSB-FM, at the volunteer college station in UC Santa Barbra. His show aired for 40 hours of air time. Sean once said he was not good in the show but rather terrible. He was once a house painter and building contractor.

Radio

Hannity used to work as a general contractor and volunteer at USC Santa Barbra as a talk show host in 1989. He has also worked in other radio stations like WVNN in Athens, Alabama, WGST in Atlanta, Georgia, WABC in New York, and WOR in New York. The KCSB show was canceled after less than a year. It was after two shows that discussed gay and lesbian rights in a manner that was considered to be contentious.

Television 

Hannity’s views were political and socially conservative. He spoke supportively about birth control, which led to an on-air clash with abortion rights guests. Sean said he would join the Baptist Church if the Catholic Church would excommunicate him for supporting contraception.

Fox News Hannity 

Sean Hannity was a co-host of Hannity & Colmes, a television program on Fox News. He started a Sunday night television show on Fox News, Hannity’s America, in 2007. After Colmes departed from the Hannity & Colmes show, Sean merged the slot with his new show, Hannity.
