Early life 

Williams was born on April 10th, 1954, in Colon, Panama. He is the child of Alma Geraldine and Rogelio Williams, alongside his brother and sister. Juan migrated to America with his mother and siblings in a banana carrier when he was four. They lived in Pleasantville, New Jersey, for a short while before moving to Brooklyn, New York, where they settled permanently.

Education 

Shortly after moving to New York, the reputable writer earned a scholarship to study at Oakwood Friends School, a private institution. Williams revealed that attending a private school as a teenager positively impacted him. While there, he was a student clerk and the school newspaper editor and played sports. Juan graduated in 1972 and joined Haverford College, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy for four years.

After his internship, Williams started off his career at Washington Post in 1979. He continued to work for the newspaper for another 23 years, switching from being a White House reporter and editorial writer to an opinion editorial columnist. In 2000, the honorable reporter was hired at National Public Radio. He was named the host of Talk of The Nation, a show that focused on current issues while covering controversial topics. However, Juan was fired in 2010 after making racist comments about Muslims.

Furthermore, Juan Williams has earned an Emmy Award for his documentary writing. His political work has made him a critical appraisal in good measure. Some television documentaries he has worked on include Politics: The New Black Power, A. Philip Randolph: For Jobs and Freedom, Civil Rights and The Press, Riot to Recovery, and Dying for Healthcare. 

The eminent commentator is also well-recognized for the books he has authored. He wrote his first book in 1987, titled Eyes on the Prize: America’s Civil Rights Years (1954-1965). Williams wrote a second book 11 years later, Thurgood Marshall: American Revolutionary. Some of his other books are: –
