Mary Dagen McDowell was born on January 7, 1969, so she is 54 years old as of this writing. She grew up in Campbell County, Virginia, United States. McDowell is from an Irish ancestry or family, her father’s name is McDowell, and her mother’s name is Joyce Holt McDowell. They met at the University of Virginia. Dagen McDowell’s mom passed out after suffering from cancer.

McDowell started her journalism career as a financial journalist at the prestigious Institutional Investor’s Newsletter division. Before coming to work for Fox News, she was a personal finance columnist for TheStreet.com. It was known as Dear Dagen. Besides, she worked for Smartmoney.com and Smart Money magazine.

Dagen McDowell has been a cohost on the Mornings with Maria on Fox Business Network from 2015 to present from 6-9am/ET every weekday. She was featured on another famous program Imus in the Morning, before Imus died in 2019. McDowell doubled as the weekly panelist for Cashin In. From 2013 to 2015, she won the Cashin’ in Challenge every year, defeating professional finance experts. 

In 2016, she started hosting Bull and Bears after the demise of Brenda Buttner, who suffered from cancer. Besides regularly giving economic and political commentary on Fox News, she has appeared on Cavuto on Business. McDowell got into the shows such as Your World with Neil Cavuto and CAVUTO Live (Saturdays 10am-12pm/ ET) since 2003.
