Eunice Simpson is famous as the controversial sports celebrity and O.J. Simpson’s mother. The late Ms. Simpson was divorced from Jimmy Lee Simpson who died in 1986. O.J. Simpson’s parents had four children together whom they named Melvin, Shirley, Carmelita, and O.J. Upon her divorce from her husband in 1952, Simpson’s mom raised all four of her children by herself up until they were of age.

The death of Eunice Simpson

On a Friday morning in November 2001, O.J. Simpson’s mom was found dead in her home in San Fransisco. According to the investigators and the medical examiner, she died of natural causes. As unfortunate as it was, Eunice’s death may not have come as a shock to her family, who were aware of her heart condition. She had been in and out of hospital in the previous years due to heart failures and strokes, which were the ultimate cause of her demise.

Eunice Simpson Testified at Trial

After the highly televised speed chase between O.J. Simpson and the police, the infamous athlete surrendered on condition that he spoke to his mother first. She was called to his trial as a witness when O.J. was presented as an abusive spouse to his late ex-wife, Nicole Brown. O.J. Simpson’s mom was 73 years old at the time, battling arthritis and a recent joint replacement surgery. At that moment, she left her wheelchair and, using a cane, slowly walked to the witness stand, where she talked about the hard life of being a divorced mother raising four children by herself.

The late Jimmy Lee Simpson was O.J. Simpson’s father and a well-known drag queen of the 1950s. He died in June of 1986 after contracting HIV/AIDS.

 O.J. Simpson’s first wife was Marguerite Whitley, who was married between 1967-1979. Later, Simpson married Nicole Brown Simpson in 1985 and divorced in 1992.

 O.J. Simpson and Nicole Simpson had a daughter, Sydney Brooke. She is a grandchild to Eunice Simpson.

Simpson was released before the expiry of a sentence by the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation in December 2021.

O.J. Simpson and Kardashian became friends after meeting at USC in 1967. Later, Simpson became the best man at Kardashian and Kris Houghton’s wedding in 1978.

Eunice Simpson’s son, O.J., was acquitted as there was a racial bias in the investigation. His defense team argued that the evidence had been ruined.
